A. Bryan Endres is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Law in the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois. He also holds an appointment with the Business, Economics and Law theme at the Institute for Genomic Biology. Current teaching responsibilities include “The Law and Regulation of Biotechnology,” “Food Law,” and “Agricultural Law.”
Prior to his appointment at the University of Illinois, he practiced law with Steptoe & Johnson LLP in Phoenix, Arizona, where he concentrated on commercial and intellectual property litigation. He also served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Mayer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. Endres is admitted to practice law in Illinois, Arizona and Maryland, is Secretary of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Agricultural Law Section Council and is a Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s Agricultural Management Committee. Current research interests include attribute agriculture, agricultural biotechnology, intellectual property, sustainable food production and land use issues.
Endres earned a B.S in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York (1992) and a M.S. in Administrative Management from the European Division of Bowie State University (1995). After five years of service in the Army, he attended the University of Illinois College of Law where he was a member of the Illinois Law Review and Order of the Coif (2000).
