presentation will focus on a framework for quantifying agroecosystem health as
a combination of biophysical, social and economic data at landscape
scales. A case study from an
agricultural ecosystem in Ohio
will be presented and the methodology, including data requirements and
analytical hierarchy process for combining the data, will be described. Concepts have been extended to a community
sustainability index that can serve as a tool for consensus building in
community planning.
