Kim has a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biology from Central Missouri State University and has worked for the US Geological Survey, conducting watershed assessments; was an educator for the Mississippi River group Living Lands and Waters, and is currently the Watershed Organizer for Prairie Rivers Network, Illinois' statewide river conservation organization.
