Join fellow farmers and university specialists at Growing Home’s Les Brown Memorial Farm for an in-depth look at their soil fertility management strategies and practices.

Larry O’Toole will discuss his use of cover crops, rotations, tillage and purchased inputs on this 10-acre farm. Growing Home grows certified organic produce at three sites (two in Chicago) for CSA, wholesale and farmers’ market customers. University staff will be on hand to discuss the results of a survey of organic growers and their fertility management, and to help answer questions. Please join us!

Take exit 59A from I-39 and merge onto I-80 toward Chicago. From I-80, take
exit 97 south (E. 24th Rd.) for about 1/2 mile. Take 1st left onto N 30th Rd. and
head east for about 1 mile.
From the Chicago area via I-80
Take I-80 to exit 97. Take exit 97 south (E. 24th Rd.) for about 1/2 mile. Take 1st
left onto N 30th Rd. and head east for about 1 mile.
From the south
Take I-39/US Hwy 51 north toward La Salle. Take exit 59A and merge onto I-80
toward Chicago. Take I-80 to exit 97. Take exit 97 south (E. 24th Rd.) for about
1/2 mile. Take 1st left onto N 30th Rd. and head east for about 1 mile.
