This workshop will describe the CREA (Regional Consortia for Agricultural Experimentation) organization, its mission and work methodology. As an example of a typical research project we will discuss the development of “Triguero”, a decision aid software for nitrogen fertilization in wheat. The discussion will include the design and analysis of on-farm experiments, the calibration of DSSAT, a mathematical crop simulation model, and its application in a user-friendly platform for farmers and consultants. We will run different weather and soil condition scenarios in Triguero, compare the outcomes and discuss them.
