The Brookfield Zoo is committed to buying animal feed and human food directly from Illinois organic farmers. This field day and workshop will start with a farm tour at the Ackerman Farm just in Chenoa, and continue on to Larry and Marilyn Wettstein’s Organic Pastures farm near Eureka. The day will end with a panel from the Brookfield Zoo to inform farmers of the many foodstuffs that the zoo is anxious to purchase from Illinois farms. Registration fee includes lunch and resource materials.
